Hi all, Sorry it has been seemingly forever since I have posted a blog. I was having "ghost issues" accessing the blog that we had been trying to figure out. I am not sure that we ever did, but I am back up and running somehow!!! There were lots of great comments to my last post. I love hearing what you think of the stores and ideas and thoughts you have. It all starts with you guys! I have been traveling a lot in the last few months. Right now we are buying for the current season as well as Spring 2009 and Fall 2009. It can be a challenge to look and decide on Fall 2009 when you haven't even wrapped up Fall 2008! Have you all been out shopping lately? Anyone starting to get a jump on Christmas shopping? How do you feel about how the stores look right now? Glad to be back and blogging with everyone again!

	The store here in Jackson, MS looks great! I love the new way shoes are displayed. I did notice that you guys started getting some great makeup...Lola, two faced...etc. AWESOME! What a great find for me when a 25 dollar lipstick is going for 5 bucks! It is welcome in this economy! Are you guys going to continue purchasing these lines? How often do you send shipments to the stores? I also noticed the higher end merchandise usually goes to larger towns ( i moved here from San Diego, where HUGE names were in the store, but not nearly as much here) That is sad, since there is nowhere to buy most of those items here in Jackson, but in Cali, those brands are sold everywhere. Send more good stuff here!!! Thanks for your hard work getting us great deals!


	Hi Linda, So glad to hear that you are finding some great items in the store. Most of our stores get new trucks every few days depending on the volume of the store. I try and go to my local stores once every week as the mix changes that quickly. Generally the larger city stores do get more overall product as the overall volume of those stores is that much greater. That said though, we do try and ensure everyone gets a good mix of branded merchandise regardless of the volume of the store. We have a planning and allocation area that is responsible for getting the goods into the stores once we have made the buy. They are critical to our success as buyers. While it is true it all starts with the product itself, it is just as important to then make sure we are getting it to the right stores. Our planning guys are amazing with the amount of analysis and thought they put into each item that gets shipped to the stores. Glad to hear you like the new shoe display. I personally find it much easier to shop. Keep the great comments coming and happy shopping!

Hi i AM A NEWBE HERE and need some help ?? lol I havent been to marshalls in a long time due to some weight gain ..anyway I used to love shopping there and love the great deals they had then when i live by the clark nj store ..but also at the malls in the middlessex area.. I was wondering now that my kids are older actually late teens how can i find even more deals like when do they get thier new shipment in since i moved to the shore area now closer to tomsriver " I was wondering is that a good store meaning do they get great big shipments? or can someone stear me in the right direction as to which one has more stuff to choose from ? I would love to get some good insight on this thanks in advance.


	Hi Frstlexus1, First let me say maybe you can tutor me on the blogging. I am impressed that as a first timer you have the characters down, etc....I am still learning! I am guessing that you are still in NJ. We have quite a few stores there, but the volume does differ from store to store so the shipments, etc... will as well. We have Marshalls stores in Brick Town and Neptune as well, which seem to be within 20 miles of Toms River. I would recommend trying them both out as well. Each store gets new fresh receipts of goods anywhere from daily to every few days. And even though the volume of each of the stores may be different, you just never know what you might find. I have to say that some of the best stores to find product in are some of the slower traffic stores. Having traveled stores all over the country, it is in those stores you are bound to find some of the best deals....there is just not as much shopping competition!!! Also, each store will differ by each class of business. So some stores may be great home stores but not so hot in apparel or vice versa.
